just to fill you in: spent a whole year with a host family in Kentucky. got my American driver's license (and later transferred it into a German one). but don't own a car. lost both my grandfathers. and my favorite aunt to breast cancer. became interested in photography and crafts. lost 20lbs and then gained 35lbs back. lived through my mom having a stroke and recovering perfectly. looked for the perfect university for me. and found it. officially graduated high school. moved into my first own apartment.

Hello, my name is Katharina. How are you doing today? This website focuses on the person that I am - sometimes fascinating, sometimes annoyingly average - and, truth be told, has no other purpose than to archive my life in written form. I do, however, enjoy input from others and webdesign which is why this whole thing is openly displayed online.

I spent one year as an exchange student with a host family in a small town in Northern Kentucky. It was the best year of my life, I am sure of it.

For sentimental reasons (both, to stop myself from missing it all so much as well as to archive the journey), I want to re-live as many moments of this great adventure as I possibly can by writing it all down - step by step, chapter by chapter. Feel free to read along.
