The Best Year of My Life
Kentucky is neither southern, northern, eastern or western…
It is the core of America.
If these United States can be called a body,
Kentucky is its heart.
- Jesse Stuart
I spent one year as an exchange student with a host family in a small town in Northern Kentucky. It was the best year of my life, I am sure of it.
For sentimental reasons (both, to stop myself from missing it all so much as well as to archive the journey), I want to re-live as many moments of this great adventure as I possibly can by writing it all down - step by step, chapter by chapter. Feel free to read along.
Part 1: Gettin’ ready
Part 2: Nothing in my way now
Part 3: My Kentucky gang
Part 4: Settin’ foot on American soil
To be continued…
Note: I have proceeded to write on this story but decided not to release the next parts for a while. Current word count: 10,946, current book page count: 48.
