The thunder rolls

The thunder rolls by Garth Brooks is one of the most amazing songs I have ever heard.

I love thunderstorms and this song captures their dramatic mood perfectly.

I have finally discovered the one thing that justifies AOL’s existence!

This is so amazing - although, frankly, I don’t expect everybody to jump up and start dancing.

Contrary to Firefox or Internet Explorer, AOL lets me view and listen to streams that are usually restricted for users in the United States only. Again, this might not seem like such a big deal but it is to me because now I can finally listen to all my favorite Kentucky radio stations again WHICH MEANS EVERYTHING! I HAVE MISSED THEM SO MUCH.

So awesome.

Who needs please when we’ve got guns?

I downloaded Jack Johnson’s album Sleep through the static about a month ago when I downloaded crazy amounts of music and never really listened to it while actually paying attention. It is, after all, not the sort of music I’d want to listen to in the car or on a party or live in concert or anywhere, really, except for quite, peaceful mornings or while finishing up a blog entry during late night hours. Johnson’s voice has something extremely soothing and relaxing about it; lazily casual, rendering me sleepy and so very comfortable.

When I listened to the album for the first time, all songs sounded the same to me and I was actually getting sleepy in a negative sense of the word, meaning that I found it rather boring. However, the second time around, I realized that the songs are not alike at all. Although the arrangements seem similiar, lyrics and melody are - as seems logicial, really - always different.

I love this album now. I’ve been listening to it all day. I’m in that relaxed, kind of doomy mood anyway because I stayed up till five in the morning last night and then slept till two in the afternoon. So this day is not worth much anymore and just hanging out and listening to Johnson’s music is as perfect as it’ll get.

I don’t have any favorite songs on this album, they’re all equally amazing and - for the sake of the paradoxical - equally unique. Instead, here’s one of my favorite lyrical passage of all times:

Who needs sleep when we’ve got love?
Who needs keys when we’ve got clubs?
Who needs please when we’ve got guns?
Who needs peace when we’ve gone above?

The third line is pure genius. Listen to the album and, I promise, you’ll feel better instantly!
