Euro 2008: Germany made it to the final!!!

Germany just beat Turkey 3:2 and thereby made it to the Euro 2008 final! As with the World Cup of ‘06, Germany is going to be soccer crazy for the next few days.

More than 500,000 people watched the game at Berlin’s fanmile right n front of the Brandenburg Gate last night, forming the largest public viewing area worldwide - again, just like during the world cup.
With all the Turkish people living in Germany, there have been reports about how this game wouldn’t go over without violence, how fans would attack each other and whatnot. So far, the Turkish seem to be great about not winning this game, though.

This is so amazing, oh - my - God. Soccer really is the best sport there is, all these emotions and everything - just wow.
Next stop: the final, against either Spain or Russia on Sunday.
Also: more on my trip to Maastricht and Aachen tomorrow.

Euro 2008: Germany kills Portugal on their way to the half finals

Both teams actually did play really, really well and brought back World Cup ‘06 memories. One of the greatest games of this Euro, definitely. Three German dream goals. Two Portugese goals, well deserved.
The official Euro 2008 website titled seconds after the game: Portugal no match for German power show.
GERMANY MADE IT TO THE HALF FINALS! SO PROUD OF OUR BOYS!

Euro 2008: Bella Italia, amore mio!
Italy made it to the quarter finals by winning their game against France yesterday. I am thrilled and here’s why:

Luca Toni. So beautiful. His tattoo, in case you were wondering, says BERLINO 2006 - which, of course, refers to the World Cup final of 2006 in Berlin when Italy won. They are now the current world champions.
Germany also made it to the quarter finals, by the way, and my mom’s favorite team - the Dutch - did as well. So, no worries.
Soccer is awesome.
