Bookshelf
I absolutely love reading and in 2007 I started reading books in their original language (i.e. English, for the most part) only. It’s so much better than having to deal with annoying German translations. Plus, it’s more exciting - albeit more expensive - to have books shipped over here from the US and own the original copies that most people over here don’t have.
I have the tendency to read Oprah’s Book Club books. Yeah, I know. I’ve had my share of unbelieving stares and pitying head-tilts. Her books are just always really great! But I also enjoy wandering through bookstores and picking up a couple of books that look interesting at first glance. Furthermore, I am addicted to purchasing things from Amazon.
You can check out a list of the books I read in 2007 here. The first book is the one I read last - that’s a creative-minded person’s logic. Anyway, take a look at it and see which books I recommend to you!
Here is a list of the books I have read so far in 2008.
What I’m currently reading:
Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
Books already waiting on my bookshelf that I’m going to read next:
America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction by Jon Stewart
Gossip Girl: Don’t you forget about me by Cecily von Ziegesar
World without End by Ken Follet
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez
The Measure of a Man: A Spiritual Autobiography by Sidney Poitier
Books I’m going to buy as soon as possible:
Remember me? by Sophie Kinsella
Trading up by Candace Bushnell
I am always looking for new books and especially different kinds of books that, maybe, I normally wouldn’t pick out myself. So if there are any books you’d like to recommend to me, let me know.
